Toppers, Bases, Extras

Many couples prefer a stylish topper made entirely of sugar flowers. This can be co-ordinated with the Bride's bouquet, table flowers, or time of year. It can be all white, or multi colored. It looks especially nice on a cake that is decorated simply. $35 and up, depending on size and difficulty of flowers.

Another option now in vogue is a dramatic bow made of gumpasts. It can be colored and textured as you like, with tails either up in the air or draping down the tip tiers. $35

Cakes may be ornamented with fresh fruit, nuts (gilded?) berries, chocolate covered strawberries, wheatstalks, etc. Market price.

Hand made monograms make your cake really personal. I offer them in Victorian script, Victorian Floral, Art Deco, Block (both plain and ornamented) Gothic, Cyrillic,Celtic, Chinese, Japanese, Greek, Hebrew, Aramaic, and Medieval Manuscript. All are $10 per letter, except Celtic and Medieval Manuscript, which are hand colored. The Celtic is $15 per letter. The Medieval Manuscript price depends on how much 22 karat gold leaf is used.

If you wish for your cake to be decorated with fresh flowers, please make arrangements with your florist to have the flowers available to me at the reception site. I charge $25 for this service, and you must sign a waiver absolving me from harm in case of allergic reaction by a guest. Some flowers are toxic and cannot be on the cake at all, so we must discuss what flowers you choose. Most commercial flowers have been sprayed with preservatives and pesticides, so organic blooms are best.

I have several ornamental bases of crystal, glass, or silver plate available for rental if your venue does not have something suitable. These are especially nice to give extra height and presence to smaller cakes. The crystal case can be lit from within for evening weddings. $25 for rental, plus a security deposit.

I have a lovely Bridal decorated birdcage, with or without a floor stand, for gift envelopes. I will deliver it with the cake. $25 for rental, plus a security deposit.
